I’m always on the hunt for good smart sci-fi, interstellar and some others from your list are some of my favourite. I also loved “the man from earth” very low budget and the almost the entire thing happens in a living room but so clever and smart that it keeps you glued to the screen. Any other smart sci-fi you can recommend?

“Interstellar” is absolutely one of Nolan’s best. Not sure why all the caveats. Is it brain-dead, popcorn entertainment? No. But that shouldn’t be held against it.

Not only was Midsommar NOT disturbing, it was laughable; because it BLEW. They obviously tried...but it was nothing more than a cheap attempt at The Wicker Man.

Have watched over 700 Asian films & dramas from 7 countries: a fan of Yoo Ah In so #Alive is great, Burning also stars Yoo Ah In with TWD alumni Steven Yuen who is also in Okja which was directed by Parasite director Bong Joon-ho and stars the late Lee Sun-kyun. Watch Veteran for Yoo Ah In. Train to Busan stars Gong Yoo who is an incredible Korean actor; check out the over the top special effects and instant zombie transformation of Train to Busan. Kill Bok-soon, The Call: fierce women films.

War of the Worlds would pair up nicely with The Day of the Triffids.

Great vid as always, man! In your overview of Runaway Jury, it reminded me that in New Orleans, there's this one singular building that's used over and over to simulate courts, senate hearings, and an innumerable number of other scenes that require that kind of institutional decor and design... getting a movie extra gig is super easy in NOLA, and it's fun, but it doesn't pay enough (the days can get long as hell, too). Also, I was born in Jackson, MS, hopped to Louisiana as a toddler, and spent a lot of time hanging out from Woodville to McComb... even went to school in Centerveille. Awesome to see a fellow dirty south homie doing good things. Now I'm even more hyped on your channel, lol. Cheers, fam.

I'd highly recommend shutting the movie off when the ice storm starts to happen. Yeah, the movie was one long series of unfortunate events, but that part just seemed designed to bum you out.

The Last Castle is the only good on the list, the rest is old B movies, Prime is getting shitty !

The Ice Storm is one of the three most depressing films I've ever seen, but really well done. Once was enough for me.

Some of the BEST sci-fi movies have horror elements built in. And vice versa. Hard to separate the 2 genres.
